An old warehouse in Asheville’s River Arts District has been renovated to include small artist studios and display space. It’s being called The Tannery (no doubt a nod to its historical use), and it sits behind Riverview Station, another grand warehouse-turned-artist haven on Lyman Street.

A party at The Tannery a couple of weeks ago a couple hundred visitors all eager to check out the new space and the artists there.

The Tannery is just one of several old warehouses that are back off of Lyman. There’s a ton of great graffiti there, as well as a little DIY skate park. The Tannery looks like a great addition to the River Arts District, which continues to evolve.
