Via Downtown Asheville on Facebook, a note has appeared on the door of the 2 Pack Square location of The Cupcake Corner, saying the bakery and coffeeshop is closing. The owners will now operate only their Sisters McMullen cafe/bakery and coffeeshop at 840 Merrimon Avenue.

According to the note, all the goodies available at the Cupcake Corner can still be found at the North Asheville location, and “opportunities have arisen” for the owners’ baked goods to be available in “new downtown locations.”

The Cupcake Corner will close on Monday Sunday, according to the note.

I always get a Sisters cake for my birthday and love them! …but I have to say that I was never really impressed about the ambiance of their space at this location. It always looked a little untidy, unclean, and didn’t ever seem to have anyone in it…for such a hot location. I always get coffee and a pastry whenever I’m in downtown and always passed this one up….maybe some new life will be good for this space.

I believe there is already a leaser. It was a great place!
As my kids are starting middle school and high school,
Seems more important to simplify. Southeastern is
Wonderful to work with!! I am excited about some things that will pop up.
