CrossFit Asheville is moving its gym to a new space at 438 Haywood Road in West Asheville. The new gym will be in a 7,7000-square-foot building located near B&B Pharmacy on Haywood Road near the intersection with Interstate 240.

CrossFit Asheville was forced to move following the announcement a few weeks back that Kmart on Tunnel Road was closing and Whole Foods is planning to move in. CrossFit Asheville is currently located on the side of the Kmart.

CrossFit Asheville, a gym of which I’m a member, has established itself since Shanna and Corey Duvall moved to Asheville in December 2008 and teamed up with Randy Kite to introduce Asheville to CrossFit. Shanna and Corey as graduates of New York Chiropractic College.

They opened the Stay Active Clinic, which Corey runs, and first started teaching CrossFit in Asheville in the River Arts District.

Congratulations to the CrossFit Asheville crew. The plan is to make the move in a couple of months.

Lots of love for the good folks at Asheville CrossFit, but let’s not forget Blue Ridge CrossFit – a great “box” with strong ties to the community led by a group of most-excellent trainers.

28806 Lowdown totally just made me laugh on FB when they said this might balance out all the restaurants in West Asheville. I think we need like 3 more CrossFits.
