gaydish_asheville_2016Two benefit events are coming up to raise money for two Asheville families going through hard times.

The first is Friday, with shows at New Mountain Asheville and the Grey Eagle, both of which will benefit the family of Kayah Gaydish, who died following a rock climbing accident last month. The shows will raise money for Kayah’s two children, Caleb and River.

At New Mountain, Telic, MindShapeFist, Beyond blue and Juan Holladay will play at 6:30 p.m., with doors at 6. At the Grey Eagle, the benefit begins at 7 p.m.

Then on Saturday, Jan. 16, Once Center Yoga will host a Kirtan to benefit Ryan Conrad and his family. Conrad, a well-known yoga teacher in Asheville, was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Here’s the press release:

One Center Yoga will host a Kirtan to benefit Ryan Conrad and Family with Osel & Friends on Saturday January 16, 2016 from 7:30-9:30pm.

Ösel (Tibetan for clearlight) is a metaphor for the experience ofbeing the non-dual basis of all existence. Words can only point to it, however, through deep listening it is possible to immerse one self into the blissful experience directly.

Join us for an evening of kīrtan (singing mantra and deep listening) to help support Ryan and his family. All ages are welcome, no experience required. All donations will go directly to the Save Ryan’s Asana Fund.

Additionally, this month, proceeds from Ösel’s medicine buddha mantra cd will also support Ryan Conrad and his family – http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/osel – Copies will be available at the kirtan.

As you know, Ryan and Brooke need funds for the many out-of-pocket medical day to day living expenses so that they can be together however non-monetary gifts or just a show of support and love will also go a long way for this family. Please invite all friends and patrons to like the FB page and share as well. https://www.facebook.com/Save-Ryans-Asana-as-he-Fights-Pancreatic-Cancer-1686528768257743/?

Please share and attend if possible. If you cannot make it, and would still like to donate, you can do so here: http://youcaring.com/ryanconrad

Kirtan is co-sponsored by One Center Yoga and West Asheville Yoga.
