Ashvegas celebrity sightings: Dax Shepard, Peter Dinklage, Clarke Peters

With a couple of big film and TV projects shooting around Western North Carolina this year, there have been plenty of celebrity sightings in and around Asheville. Here’s what I’ve heard about over the past few days:

-Clarke Peters: This actor, who played the character Lester Freamon on the HBO hit The Wire, as well as Albert “Big Chief” Lambreaux on Treme, was spotted along Haywood Street in downtown Asheville this week. He’s part of the Hollywood movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, which has been filming in northern Buncombe County for the past few weeks. That movie also stars Frances McDormand, Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson and Peter Dinklage.

-Peter Dinklage: This actor, best known for his turn in HBO’s Game of Thrones, was spotted strolling around Rankin and College Streets earlier this week. He’s part of the Three Billboards movie mentioned above.

-Dax Shepard: He’s an actor, writer and director who played Crosby Braverman in the NBC comedy-drama series Parenthood from 2010 to 2015, according to wikipedia. He was spotted at Trader Joe’s in Asheville recently, reports a loyal Ashvegas reader. No word on what he was doing in Asheville – probably just vacationing.
