The Small Plate Crawl is February 26-28 and involves nearly 30 local, independent restaurants. For $3 to $8 per plate, roving bands of friends and foodies can roam from venue to venue, trying a little taste everywhere they go.
Participating restaurants include The Blackbird, Chai Pani, Curate, the French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Laughing Seed, the LAB, Strada and more.

One week from tomorrow you, your relatives, your friends, and new friends you meet along the way can walk from restaurant to restaurant, sampling small plates from a special menu put together for the occasion at lower than usual prices. A perfect way to see if you like a place you’ve never been to before, or try something new at an old favorite.

Asheville Independent Restaurants (AIR) will again be offering the popular Small Plate Crawl, where diners can visit many restaurants over the course of several days, or even in one evening, to enjoy small plate tastes from various Asheville Independent Restaurant chefs. The second annual event is slated for February 26th-28th and will feature close to 30 local, independent AIR restaurants.
“Last year was our first year experimenting with this concept, and it was met with a huge reception”, says Sherrye Coggiola, 2013 AIR Board President. “ We knew we were on to something when we heard of travelers coming from outside of market to participate in the crawl- it really is a fun, interactive event and a very affordable way to experience restaurants you have been curious to try out.”
Diners not only get to sample small plates from various restaurants, the price is affordable- between $3 and $8 a plate. It is also designed for groups of friends to gather and enjoy the evening together as they make their way, or “crawl” from restaurant to restaurant. Prizes are awarded for the most loyal of crawlers through a Small Plate “Passbook” which can be stamped during a visit.
