Press release here:

Asheville Independent Restaurants (AIR) will again be offering the popular Small Plate Crawl, where diners can visit many restaurants over the course of several days, or even in one evening, to enjoy small plate tastes from various Asheville Independent Restaurant chefs. The second annual event is slated for February 26th-28th and will feature close to 30 local, independent AIR restaurants.

“Last year was our first year experimenting with this concept, and it was met with a huge reception”, says Sherrye Coggiola, 2013 AIR Board President. “ We knew we were on to something when we heard of travelers coming from outside of market to participate in the crawl- it really is a fun, interactive event and a very affordable way to experience restaurants you have been curious to try out.”

Diners not only get to sample small plates from various restaurants, the price is affordable- between $3 and $8 a plate. It is also designed for groups of friends to gather and enjoy the evening together as they make their way, or “crawl” from restaurant to restaurant. Prizes are awarded for the most loyal of crawlers through a Small Plate “Passbook” which can be stamped during a visit. For details on the event, a list of participating restaurants and to download the AIR Small Plate Crawl Passbook, please visit: www.ashevillesmallplatecrawl.com.
