wild_foods_marketLots of great information from the Asheville Scene. Here’s a quick look:

Sazarec bar is getting a new name and concept, reports Macksensy Lunsford:

Anthony Cerrato, co-owner of Strada Italiano with Eric Booker, announced today that the bar formerly known as Sazerac is about to undergo a major overhaul.

The bar and restaurant, located at 29 Broadway St., is to be called The Social Lounge and Tapas.

The menu will undergo major changes, too.

The chef of Sazerac, Alexandria Caesar, has been working with Cerrato to develop a small plates menu with Mediterranean flair. Menu items will hail from Morocco, southern Spain, the Greek islands and Sicily.

-The Asheville Wild Foods Market is set to open next month. Lunsford reports:

Alan Muskat, Asheville’s resident mushroom forager, will open the long-discussed Asheville Wild Foods Market next month.

The first market takes place April 6 at this year’s inaugural outdoor Asheville City Market at 161 S. Charlotte St. The Asheville Wild Foods Market will be open at the ACM every Saturday through November 2, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

-And Bar of Soap laundromat has added a menu of Italian comfort food from Del Vecchios, a small-chain Italian eatery first opened in Norfolk, Va., in 1996. That includes New York-style pizzas, pasta, paninis and dessert, available for dine in, takeout or delivery.
