tammy_jones_american_idol_2014Some silliness from my buddy Tammy Jones. Go Tammy! You’re nuts!

Ever been on a bus for more than 50 hours? That’s how one member of Asheville’s Mix 96.5 morning team is traveling to Hollywood to report on Caleb Johnson’s quest for the American Idol title.

Mix 96.5’s morning show co-host Tammy Jones boards the Greyhound bus at Asheville’s Tunnel Road station at 3:30 pm, Saturday afternoon. She’ll arrive in Los Angeles at 3:30 PST Monday afternoon.

“It’s an adventure,” says her morning show co-host Dex Mitchell, who made the arrangements.

In addition to documenting the journey to Hollywood, Tammy will also be providing updates, interviews, and pictures from the Nokia Theatre as Caleb performs for the final shows. Listeners may follow along on the Mix 96.5 Facebook page as well as the station’s website, mix965asheville.com.

Yeah. Things must not be too good at the ole radio station if they sent her out on the Greyhound.

Harry…FYI: The bus trip was actually part of the ‘plan’. A fun radio stunt. She flew back. Cost was not the reason Tammy rode the bus.
