Tony Kiss of the Asheville Citizen-Times reports. Again, I’m catching up to last week’s news:

The Warren Haynes Christmas Jam will be held over two nights this holiday season at the U.S. Cellular Center, the Grammy-winning Asheville rocker and his wife announced Friday afternoon.

The show will be celebrating its 25th anniversary. Dates were not yet announced, but talent is now being lined up, Haynes’ wife Stefani Scamardo said Friday.

The surprise announcement came during a ceremony at the Habitat for Humanity neighborhood in West Asheville, where Haynes and Scamardo presented the keys to a new home to Shannon Kaufman. The last time the jam was a two-day affair was for its 20th anniversary show.

The all-star Christmas Jam, an early December event in downtown Asheville, has become one of the city’s signature music events, always pulling a huge crowd to the ExploreAsheville.com arena. Performers over the years have included everyone from Jackson Browne to Branford Marsalis. In 2012, the headliner was pop star Sheryl Crow, with surprise guests the Avett Brothers. Proceeds from the jam go to the Asheville Area Habitat for Humaity.

For the 20th anniversary show, the line-up included Ben Harper, Steve Earle, John Paul Jones, the Allman Brothers Band, Travis Tritt and Johnny Winter. Can’t wait to hear who Haynes will bring to town this December.
