Asheville tourism officials this spring will begin promoting the city as a music destination, and it all starts with a party Wednesday at The Isis Music Hall in West Asheville.

The party will serve as a kick-off for a section of the Asheville Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website, exploreasheville.com. The new music-centric site will include a slideshow of local venues, a music calendar, the ability to live stream concerts via @iamavl and an online radio station featuring a local playlist.

A new music publishing company called Asheville Commercial Music Enterprise will license work and pay musicians for their work.

Here are the details. Go here to sign up to attend.

The Asheville CVB is shining a spotlight on the local music community to grow Asheville’s national reputation as a destination for the arts into a place also celebrated for its music. This new initiative targets the music sector in all its layers including musicians, instrument makers, studios, venues and more.

Working with our partners, the Asheville Commercial Music Enterprise (ACME) and Independent Arts and Music Asheville (IAMAVL), the CVB plans to roll-out an exciting plan that will showcase Asheville’s music assets, and reflect the richness of the music scene.

Our generous host, Isis Restaurant & Music Hall, will open its doors on March 30 for this special gathering providing food and beverage treats, and live entertainment by Grammy Award Nominee and member of renowned Balsam Range, mandolin virtuoso, Darren Nicholson.

Please join us to hear the details of this comprehensive effort, and learn about opportunities to plug-in.
