Hot Sheet food news: Little Pearl restaurant opening soon in East Asheville

Here’s more of what’s going around on the Asheville food scene:

-Little Pearl restaurant off of Tunnel Road is preparing to open. (The location is the newly remodeled shopping center across from Asheville Mall.) The restaurant features burgers, beer and oysters

-The Madness, a restaurant that advertises sushi, burgers and a bar, has applied for ABC permits for its new location at 275 Smokey Park Highway just west of #Asheville.

-Miyako House restaurant is planning to take over the former Korean House restaurant space on College Street in downtown #Asheville, according to city construction permits.

-Strictly Wings restaurant has applied for #Asheville permits to fix up the building at 3935 Sweeten Creek Road. The small restaurant is based in Florida but is working with David Robinson of Asheville for its eatery here, which will feature wings and sides.

-Summit Coffee is taking over and building out the space formerly occupied by the Watchmaker’s Shop inside the Grove Arcade. Work includes installation of lighting and construction of a bar. (The Watchmaker’s Shop remains open in a new location inside the Grove Arcade.) This would be the second location for Summit in Asheville, which currently has a great shop at The Foundation in the River Arts District.

-The Fresh Market on Hendersonville Road is doing some renovation work, which includes adding a new coffee bar.

-Rhada Indian Grocery is coming to the old Radio Shack space off Patton Avenue in West Asheville, according to city construction permits. Radha Indian Grocers also has a location in Greenville, S.C. Here’s their website.

-Udon Restaurant is planning to open on Bleachery Boulevard, according to Asheville construction permits. The location is near another new restaurant, Briyani Express, that’s been getting some great reviews for its Pakistani food
